Kevin and I went to Johnson City Paints this weekend. It was such a nerdy, geeky paint store ….
I loved it. It only sells Ben Moore paints. Golden Paint is the the acrylic artists paint equivalent to Ben Moore. It reminded me of the Golden website. I just found this site the other day.
It is Mark Golden’s (the head of golden paints) blog. He talks about how paint handles, color mixing and archival qualities.
OK, I am a paint geek or snob….

I love a good field trip. I thought I would share some “greatest hits” from last year.

Ace of Cakes
For those of you that don’t know, I LOVE TV. I stumbled on one of the most interesting shows I have seen in quite awhile, Ace of Cakes. Here is the premise- a rock ‘n roll cake shop complete with power tools and airbrushes. The cakes are big, bold, and over the top. Scupltors, painters, and pastry chefs work at this place. They really create works of art. The most interesting thing is to me is they show the peoples reaction to the cakes (oooohhh ahhhhh) and then they show people eating the cakes. The destruction of the “work” is fascinating. As people cut into the cakes (which is the purpose of the cake) they change the form, color, texture- everything.http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/show_db
the first day…
Today is the first day of school. I can’t believe it. The summer flew by… I went to Prague, Vegas, and Lousiana (the good, the tacky, and the blown down).
